What are the eight random characters in the URL for?
They uniquely identify the particular shared file. Orzeszek Transfer uses eight pseudorandom alphanumeric characters for the unique identifier so that no one can easily guess the URL of any files that you’re sharing. This means that only people you send the URL to will be able to download them.
There are nearly 3 trillion combinations of eight alphanumeric characters, making a brute-force attack infeasible in the anticipated usage scenarios (ie, files shared for less than 72 hours).
How long are the files shared for?
The files are available to download from the URL provided by Orzeszek Transfer only as long as you keep Orzeszek Transfer open.
Does Orzeszek Transfer support resuming broken downloads?
Yes.
Does Orzeszek Transfer support multi-part downloads?
Yes.
Are the file transfers encrypted?
No.
Are the file transfers compressed?
No.
What is the portable version for?
You can copy the portable version to a USB thumb drive or other device and use the app on multiple computers. When using the portable version, your settings are saved to and read from a file in the same location as the app so that they travel with the app to different computers.
What are the system requirements?
You must have Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 installed to use Orzeszek Transfer.
